Clint & Amanda's surprise proposal at Marimurtra Botanical Garden
Planning a surprise proposal is never easy, especially if you’re coming from the US or another part of Europe.
Clint got in touch a few weeks before their trip to Europe. He was sure about one thing: he wanted the proposal to feel real and truly surprising. Rather than picking a crowded city spot, he chose Marimurtra Botanical Garden, famous for its stunning sea views, calm setting, and lovely gardens.
We discussed every detail together, from where to meet to the best time of day, making sure everything felt natural so Amanda wouldn’t suspect anything. Our goal was simple: let the moment be theirs, while I quietly captured every emotion as it happened.
The Moment Everything Changed
Clint and I planned that they would stop their walk at one of the most iconic spots overlooking the temple and the sea. That was my cue to leave my hiding place and start taking photos of the big moment. My hands shook as I pressed the shutter again and again, trying to capture every second.
He reached into his pocket, knelt down on one knee, and finally asked the question he had been waiting months to ask. Amanda went from total surprise to joyful disbelief, then gave him the biggest hug. There were happy tears, so many emotions, and of course, she said yes!
I kept my distance and captured every second without interrupting, letting them experience the moment just as it was.
Celebrating the engagement
Once the proposal was over, the nerves faded right away. Clint and Amanda walked hand in hand through the gardens, moving slowly, taking in the excitement, and enjoying their first moments as an engaged couple. These are often my favorite photos, not because they’re posed, but because they’re real. The smiles are effortless. The laughter is natural. Everything feels lighter.
Instead of directing every movement, I gave gentle guidance and let Clint and Amanda enjoy the experience together.
Why Marimurtra is one of the best proposal locations in Barcelona?
Couples are drawn to Marimurtra because it feels so peaceful and is different from many busy tourist spots in Barcelona. Here, you can slow down and find quiet places to enjoy time together. The botanical garden sits high above the sea in the lomarimvely town of Blanes. It brings together colorful flowers, palm-lined paths, dramatic cliffs, and sweeping views of the Mediterranean. Everywhere you look, it feels made for romance.
If you are planning a surprise proposal in Barcelona or on the Costa Brava, this spot is tough to beat!
