But with so many venues, choosing the right one can feel a little overwhelming. Here are a few venues and tips I always recommend thinking about before making your decision.
Mas de Sant Lleí
Style: Historic Spanish masia / Timeless & romantic
Why it’s perfect: With its grand architecture, lush gardens, and refined atmosphere, the venue beautifully combines historic charm with modern luxury.

Why it’s perfect: About an hour from Barcelona in Tarragona, this castle feels like it’s straight out of a fantasy novel. The ocean views and historic architecture create a one-of-a-kind setting.
Photographer’s tip: Schedule 10-20 minutes for shooting on the beach next to the castle.

How to choose a perfect wedding venue in Barcelona?
When narrowing down your options, consider:
- Guest count — Think about how the space will actually feel with your guests there. A venue that looks beautiful in photographs can feel very different when you add 80 or 100 people. You want enough space to move around comfortably, but you also don’t want a room that feels too big and empty for an intimate celebration.
- Logistics — Think about how easy it will be for your guests to get there (or will you provide a transfer?). If you’re having a destination wedding, many of your guests will be travelling from abroad, so things like the distance from Barcelona, the airport, and accommodation can make a big difference.
- Accommodation — I personally love venues where everyone can stay together, but that isn’t always possible. If the venue doesn’t have enough rooms for your whole group, check what accommodation is available nearby and how easy it is to arrange transportation between the hotel and the venue.
- Style — Of course, the venue should feel like you. Do you picture an elegant city wedding, a relaxed celebration in the countryside, or something with a coastal feel? I always think it’s better to choose a venue that naturally fits your personality rather than trying to turn a space into something it isn’t.
- Lighting — And then there’s the photographer in me: please pay attention to the light! Natural light can completely change the way a wedding feels in photographs. I always look at where the light comes from throughout the day, where you’ll be getting ready, where the ceremony will take place, and what the light will look like around sunset. It might not be the first thing you think about when visiting a venue, but trust me — it makes a huge difference.
More Than Just Wedding Photography
For me, wedding photography is about much more than creating a collection of beautiful images.

I’ll guide you when you need a little direction, especially during portraits, but I don’t want you to spend your wedding day constantly thinking about the camera.
